Today’s kids secretly made my day when, as they were about to carry a sofa down the hall into my classroom, they first told me to lie down in it so they could carry me along with it. I obliged, not thinking they were serious. Moments later, as I gripped the cushions and squealed the entire length of the hallway, one of my colleagues told me, “Now you have been initiated.
